We all know the world can be a complex and challenging place for young people, particularly at this very worrying time. However, Legal and General remain committed to helping inspire and support them as they find their place in it.

The DofE provides opportunities from  volunteering to physical activities, life skills to expeditions.  Achieving a DofE Award is a passport to a brighter future helping young people to develop skills for work and life whilst being highly valued by employers Colleges and Universities.

In 2018/19, 12,529 young people embarked on their DofE journey across Wales including 3,257 young people from disadvantaged backgrounds

In support of new projects to increase participation levels and in partnership with DofE Wales, Legal and General are helping to make transformational changes to the lack of opportunity that many young people face.  Our support will help further develop the DofE across Wales with a specific focus on Merthyr Tydfil, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Cardiff and Caerphilly, and will introduce more young people to new and exciting positive experiences whilst improving their health and wellbeing.

During these challenging times the DofE will continue to play a key role in young people’s development through the Volunteering, Physical and Skill section and nationally they are working on “DofE with a Difference” and developing ideas so that participants are still able to complete activities, albeit it differently to normal, but equally as productive and fulfilling, developing skills, building resilience and physical fitness which is particularly pertinent with the current situation of school closures.
