L&G adds to ETF range with WTW Global Equity Diversified UCITS ETF
New Exchange Traded Fund aims to deliver institutional investment strategy at low cost to wider audience.
L&G today announces the launch of the L&G WTW Global Equity Diversified UCITS ETF (GEDI) (‘the Fund’), providing access to institutional-level investment strategies in a cost-effective way.
The fund aims to provide exposure to the WTW Global Equity Diversified Index, a custom index built by MSCI on criteria provided by WTW (“the Index”), following a multi-factor index strategy using diversified signals across value, quality, and momentum. The strategy is designed to serve as a core equity building block, with risk tightly managed through explicit portfolio constraints that include stock, sector and country exposure. It will be rebalanced on a quarterly basis, with ESG integration, including climate transition objectives, also featuring within the strategy.
The Index was designed in partnership between MSCI and WTW, bringing L&G clients the expertise of one of the world’s leading institutional investment consultants. The approach is already used to manage $25 billion across three L&G funds for institutional clients.
This is the latest ETF launch for L&G, following a year in which its total ETF assets under management rose by approximately 50%1.
David Barron, Global Head of Index & ETFs at L&G Asset Management: “Providing access to highly sophisticated and cost-effective investment strategies is an important part of L&G’s global asset management offering, having been an early pioneer of index investing. We have a great relationship with the team at WTW with a history of ongoing successful collaborations. We’re thrilled to launch this ETF – its innovative approach is already used across several existing L&G funds in institutional assets. The ETF wrapper, which provides easy access, transparency and liquidity, will aim to enable a broader group of investors with the opportunity to invest in this strategy.”
Sarah Hopkins, Head of Equity Solutions at WTW, said: “We are excited to see the launch of the first GEDI ETF, marking an important milestone in making this strategy accessible to a broader range of investors. Through our partnership with L&G and MSCI, this ETF extends a disciplined, diversified multi factor approach to investors, offering a transparent, liquid and cost-efficient way to access a core equity building block.”
