Our global asset management business provides our clients and partners with complex, responsible investment solutions, working internationally across public and private markets
Who we are
We are one of Europe’s largest asset managers and a major global investor across public and private markets, with £1.118 trillion in assets under management1.
Asset management is a critical driver of our Group strategy. The business aims to work synergistically with our Institutional Retirement and Retail divisions to benefit our clients and customers, and deliver enhanced shareholder returns.
Our investment philosophy and processes are focused on creating value over the long term. We believe that incorporating financially material sustainability criteria, when relevant to our clients, can create value and drive positive change. This reflects L&G’s purpose: ‘Investing for the long term. Our futures depend on it.’
What we do
The division combines deep expertise in asset management and origination with global distribution capabilities to deliver positive outcomes for our clients, which include individual savers, pension scheme members and global institutions, investing alongside L&G’s own balance sheet. As a global investor, we are present where our clients most need us – from Hong Kong and Singapore, to major European financial hubs, and Chicago.
We have market-leading capabilities across the full spectrum of asset classes, ranging from index-tracking and active funds to liquidity and liability-based risk management strategies.
Our Private Markets platform is an integral part of our business, and we manage over £57bn2 in private assets. We aim to provide pension schemes and institutional clients with a range of solutions suited to their investment objectives while also investing our own balance sheet to establish new assets and originate opportunities. We provide investment strategies across real estate, infrastructure, venture capital, and private credit—underpinned by a considered, responsible investment approach—that not only aim to be commercially competitive, but also sustainable and impactful.
