Climate and nature: transitioning to a greener future
In 2023, we saw average temperatures reach 1.45°C above pre-industrial levels, making it one of the hottest years on record. The UN Environment Programme forecasts the current trajectory of global warming to be well above the target agreed in Paris and such an outcome would be devastating for ecosystems and hugely disruptive for economies.
