Chris Knight

Chris Knight, our Group Chief Risk Officer, was CEO of Legal & General Retail Retirement (LGRR) for three years.

Skills and experience

Chris led the expansion of our annuity propositions, created one of the leading providers of lifetime mortgages and established our Financial Advice and Health & Care businesses.

He has also served as L&G’s Customer Champion, representing retail customers’ interests across the whole product range: a perspective he brings to his CRO role. 

From his time as CEO of a life insurance joint venture in Taiwan, to actuarial consulting in Africa, Chris has extensive international experience, in a career spending more than three decades. He is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.

Chris has a first-class Economics degree from King’s College, Cambridge, and still lives in the university city with his wife Imogen and their two sons.
